Torridon Cost Consultancy is an RICS-regulated quantity surveying and construction cost consultancy based in Edinburgh, working on projects across Scotland and throughout the UK. We provide independent commercial and construction cost advice to clients undertaking refurbishment, retrofit, fit-out and development projects.
We have particular expertise in existing buildings and complex commercial projects, including office refurbishment, commercial office fit-out, building retrofit and decarbonisation projects, and the conversion and redevelopment of existing buildings.
Our quantity surveying and cost consultancy services cover the complete project lifecycle, from the earliest stages of feasibility and option appraisal through design development, procurement, construction and final account. Services include feasibility cost estimates, cost planning, construction cost estimating, construction cost management and reporting, value engineering, procurement advice, tender strategy, preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis, contract administration, interim valuations, variation assessment and final account negotiations.
Refurbishment and retrofit projects require a different approach to new-build construction. Existing buildings bring uncertainty, interfaces with existing fabric and services, phasing requirements, occupied environments and risks that are not always apparent at the outset. Torridon helps clients identify, understand and manage these risks while maintaining effective control of the project budget.
We work closely with clients, architects, project managers, engineers and contractors to establish realistic budgets, identify cost risks early and provide clear commercial advice as projects develop.
Our approach is straightforward, independent and commercially focused. Clients benefit from experienced Director-level involvement and clear advice designed to provide greater clarity, certainty and confidence in their construction projects.
