James Adair established JG Adair, Chartered Building Surveyor in 1999.
After graduating in a Building Surveying degree in Glasgow he worked for an NHS Hospital Trust, in Dorset County Council, for a firm of building surveyors and latterly as a surveyor within a firm of engineers.
His experience included work on hospitals, schools, infrastructure works as well as commercial and domestic buildings.
It included design work, specification of works, insurance claims, maintenance schedules as well as surveys.
Only members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) are entitled to call themselves Chartered Building Surveyors.
Membership is a coveted achievement and a mark of professionalism and competence.
The use of the description 'Surveyor' has not any standing of experience or guarantee of ability.
Members of the RICS are bound by the rules of the Institution which includes a requirement to carry Professional Insurances and abide by Codes of Ethics and Practice as a protection to their clients.
