Services
We are experienced in Expert Witness work, with court appearances for clients involving boundary disputes, party wall matters and construction defects litigation.
We have also prepared reports to assist instructing solicitors in matters of professional negligence both for and against chartered surveyors.
All reports are prepared to comply with the Civil Procedure Rules Practice Direction 35 for Experts and Assessors and supported with regular continuing professional development.
We can also assist as Expert Advisors in anticipation of legal proceedings, and act as the Single Joint Expert Witness to assist both parties to reduce litigation costs.
Our clients have included resident management companies of mansion blocks, pension fund investors, schools and professional property management firms.
Our reports advise clients how best to budget for necessary repairs over a 10 to 20-year period, which can accompany a consultation notice to comply with Section 20 of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985.
We are experienced monitoring surveyors of housing developments, blocks of flats, industrial units and office parks.
Acting on behalf of funders, investors and proposed occupiers, we can prepare due diligence reports based on regular inspections to advise on progress and the quality of work carried out, thereby safeguarding our clients' interest.
We have surveyed houses from large Devon estates to "Homes from Hell" hoarders in North London since 1995.
Even new-build properties have issues.
A detailed inspection should not be considered just for older houses, because problems can manifest in different ways and areas of a property.
Our detailed construction knowledge backed by a strong track record of working with all building types, gives our clients confidence to make a decision.
Whether it is a flat, mid-terraced house or a traditional thatched Devon longhouse, buying a home is very expensive.
We can prepare feasibility studies, prepare a specification of works and find builders to carry out your proposed repairs or development, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
Contract Administration is a role to ensure a contractor complies with his legal obligations to fulfil repairs according to a specification of works.
This service is particularly useful for management companies of residential apartment blocks or multiple property owners looking after their portfolio.
