Hogbens Chartered Surveyors is a multi-discipline family run surveying practice based in Macclesfield.
Malcom retired in 2018 and since then, James has continued to evolve the business to now focus on a selection of key services.
James is the principal Director of the firm and specialises in commercial property management, building surveys and condition schedules.
The Hogben family have had close links to the surveying industry over the past 60 years, with James's late father Chris Hogben being a well-regarded surveyor in Manchester during the 1980's and 90's and his brother Alistair Hogben being a well-regarded Landlord and Tenant Surveyor in London.

We offer Level 3 residential Building Surveys, HomeBuyers Report and Condition Reports for our residential clients as well as Pre-acquisition Surveys for commercial properties.
All our surveys are carried out with great care, to ensure that all defects or other issues are well noted.
Our surveys are clearly written and easy to understand so that even the most novice of property purchasers will be able to read without getting hung up on technical terminology.
A Drone Survey of the roof and high level areas is included as part of every Building Survey we undertake (weather and location dependent).

These surveys have been well received by our clients, particularly block management agents and project managers who wish to inspect dangerous areas on site.
Drone roof surveys are advantageous in many ways, including a highly reduced risk of injury as our feet stay firmly on the ground.
Often, we can view all roof elevations, something that is often not possible for a cherry picker.
There is less cost involved as there is no need to hire a cherry picker as well as pay for our surveyor to attend.
